Culture Hiyoshi Hosts Charity Bazaar

Yokohama's Culture Hiyoshi Bazaar Funds Four Water Wells

Thanks to the enthusiastic efforts of Director and Founder, Mrs. Teiko Takamatsu, of well-known Yokohama, Japan based culture school, Culture Hiyoshi (www.culture-hiyoshi.com) the Culture Hiyoshi Charity Bazaar on Sunday, June 16th, 2008 was a great success. A combination of many generous donations of merchandise by students and an equally large number of enthusiastic shoppers, was the recipe for a successful White Elephant Sale with sales revenue totaling 85,703 yen (about $809).

With the cost of a well running at $185 each, there is enough funding to drill four wells, leaving a small balance that will be matched up with other contributions for well drilling. Special thanks also go to outside volunteers Mrs. Masako Inoue, Mrs. Ikuko Kato and Miss Kaori Fukasawa for their wonderful sales efforts and terrific hard work in packing up and cleaning up at the close of the Bazaar.

In addition , the Kasumisou Gallery will donate 21,810 yen (about $206) from the sales of Zulu Gras ® jewelry (www.zulugrass-online.com) toward supporting the community in Prey Veng for use in its Family Support Program. These funds will provide transportation subsidies to AIDS patients so that they can keep doctors appointments and counseling on how to best manage their illness.
